EXPERIMENTAL ARCHAEOLOGY
is a Powerful Tool for:
- Proving various archaeological hypotheses and assumptions
- Clarifying important details of ancient firing technologies
- Improving the accuracy of the modern interdisciplinary research methods
MAIN GOALS OF THE PROJECT:
- To shed more light on the heating/cooling processes by registering a series of experimental firings in different thermal constructions (hearth, single chamber furnace and double chamber kiln)
- To determine how the firing conditions affect the magnetic properties of different clay types
